Mountain Park Health Center’s 6th Annual Diversity Site Council Summit took place on Friday, August 19. This year’s theme was Authentic Diversity, something Mountain Park strives to achieve throughout every clinic. The dialogue during the entire event was honest, robust and refreshing.

Creating New Opportunities
Every year, our summit creates an opportunity to recognize the value of our Diversity Site Councils. These councils bring together clinic staff, patients and external community partners to help create a more inclusive and welcoming culture at Mountain Park. While we reflected on the partnerships we’ve built and accomplishments we’ve made, the majority of the event centered on learning and sharing bold ideas in order to continue propelling our organization forward.

We selected the theme of Authentic Diversity because we believe the diversity of Mountain Park’s staff, and the richness in experiences and perspectives that they each bring, is extremely valuable. Everyone who attended was asked by our panel of speakers and storytellers to think critically about what Authentic Diversity means to them as an individual and how they can bring their true self to work.

These exercises were designed to create a more open space for our staff to individually reflect on Authentic Diversity.

The day ended with participants sharing their best examples of how Mountain Park can continue its work in creating a more authentic and inclusive work environment for both, staff and patients. The Diversity & Community Affairs Team thanks everyone who contributed time, talents, brave voices and ideas that will surely benefit our organization, staff and patients as we continue moving forward.
