When Stefanie Garcia had her baby she knew she had to find a good pediatrician. Finding an affordable doctor – one who took AHCCCS – proved to be an overwhelming task.
“When it came time to pick a pediatrician, I did it last minute. I decided to just go with whoever AHCCCS had assigned to us,” she explained.
The doctor was not what Stefanie had hoped for, and her “mom gut” told her that it was time to look for someone that she felt would provide the best care for her daughter.
At every well-check visit, Emery gets a new book for her collection.
Making the Switch
At the top of Stefanie’s list was someone who would listen to her and help educate her as a first-time mom.
“I heard about Mountain Park and decided to check out their website,” she shared. “I loved being able to see all the pediatricians and learn a little bit about them before even making that first appointment.”
Stefanie chose Dr. Baynazier Ansari at our Baseline Clinic. From the moment they walked in the door, she knew she made the right choice for her daughter.
“Everything about this visit was a different experience. The evaluation was in-depth, we talked about all the important things a parent should know and I felt like our new doctor cared about my daughter,” Stefanie shared. “What I really appreciated was that she was trying to educate us as parents, too.”
At Mountain Park we know that our patients have busy lives outside our clinic. That’s why we have an entire Care Team made up of doctors, dentists, registered dietitians and behavioral health consultants that is ready to care for Emery at every checkup. And Stefanie—a busy mom who works and is an Intelligence Officer, First Lieutenant in the Army Reserve—can get all her daughter’s needs met in one place.
“When we came in, Emery got to see a dentist which was great. Instead of me having to schedule a separate appointment or go somewhere else, they brought the dentist in the room to have her teeth looked at,” she recalled. “As a bonus we got to talk to the dietitian too.”
You Have a Choice
A doctor-patient relationship is the most important aspect of healthcare. Many people who have AHCCCS don’t know they have the option to make a change. All it takes is one phone call to the insurance company and that one call may turn into the best thing a person can do for their health.
“As a patient on AHCCCS, know that you do have options and Mountain Park is a great one,” Stefanie said. “They will treat you as a whole person, they will do the follow-ups and they will make sure you are ok.”
