I’m originally from the Detroit area, so a bit different than the desert, but I love it here. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Cyrene for 31 years and recently we decided to explore Arizona. We visited this March and June, and on July 10 we decided to take a leap and move. We are hoping my two children join us eventually.

When I was a child I wanted to be an astronaut. I was interested in science and space. I still find the field captivating and follow it closely. I’m fascinated with the Hubble Space Telescope. My grandfather, who was a doctor himself, inspired me to follow in his footsteps which allowed me to pursue my love of science. I love working with children because they have a whole life ahead of them and having a positive impact on them from a young age is very important.

I chose to work at Mountain Park because of the community feel the organization brings to the table. My interest is in community work so I felt Mountain Park was a great fit.

Something people may not know about me is that I am very interested in research focused on conflict resolution and the Reach Out and Read program. One day I would love to do research on how children who participate in Reach Out and Read turn into adults who have great conflict-resolution skills. I believe the two are linked in some way.
