Proud to be a Part of Mountain Park

It’s easy to take the appearance of our clinics for granted. Nicely maintained exteriors, clean bathrooms, functioning AC; we don’t think about the time and effort that goes into keeping Mountain Park in tip-top shape, but someone does.

Facilities Director Brian Wedgeworth has been working at Mountain Park Health Center for close to three years and he’s already made it his home. After spending just a few minutes with Brian, it’s easy to see maintaining the appearance of our clinics is more than just a job to him.

“The more I learned about Mountain Park and their mission, the more I really believed in the organization and wanted to work for them,” said Brian. “I love the fact that we are giving back to the communities we serve.”

Brian was born in Yuma, AZ and has spent most of his life here except for a few years in Idaho where he graduated high school. He moved back to Arizona to go to college and is currently working on his second master’s degree in Construction Management with an emphasis in Facilities at ASU. He also has an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Brian says no two days on the job are the same. One of his main duties is to make sure the clinics are presentable and sometimes that can take him all over the valley managing projects and connecting with vendors such as Haynes Heating and Air who takes care of our AC systems.

Brian’s job is more than making sure our clinics look nice, he also work hard to ensure the safety of our patients and staff, something that can be a bit difficult from time to time.

“There are so many codes and regulations that we have to follow,” Brian said. “The rules are always changing and keeping up with them can be challenging sometimes. I deal with it by staying knowledgeable and educating myself.”

Hearing how impressed people are with our clinics makes it all worth it to Brian. One of his favorite parts is hearing people say “Wow, this is really nice. You guys have great clinics.’’

The job isn’t all hard work though. “I really enjoy people. Making and sustaining relationships is the easiest part of what I do,” Brian said.

“Brian is so respectful,” said Chief Operating Officer and Brian’s manager, Rachel Lambert. “Here at Mountain Park we’re all about inclusion and diversity and Brian just really embodies that. The facilities job has so many moving parts and he acknowledges that and embraces it. He understands that the little things have an impact on people’s everyday lives.”

Brian says he’s most proud to be in a position where he’s contributing to the community.

“Sure, I’m proud of my degrees and my education,” he said. “But I think it’s more import that I feel proud of what I do, and I’m proud to be part of Mountain Park. It’s a great organization.”

There’s a lot more that Brian has to be proud of than just his work. He’s been married 19 years, has four kids and six grandkids.
