I got into healthcare because I love nutrition and the idea that food can really affect your body. What you eat has a major impact on your health. I’m particularly interested in food allergies and diabetes. I love that Mountain Park makes this type of care really accessible with their integrated healthcare model. Most people haven’t seen a dietitian unless they’re in the hospital and Mountain Park does a great job reaching the community.
I don’t believe there is such a thing as good food and bad food. Everything in moderation can fit into a diet that is balanced. Food is meant to be enjoyed. As a provider, I’m not just interested in what my patients are eating. I also want to know when they go to bed, when they wake up, how they spend their time. Understanding their lifestyle can help me give them tools and knowledge to reach their goals.
There is so much information out there and it can be overwhelming. I’ve learned that most people only need a few tips to help them move toward big victories. Small changes one at a time lead to an overall lifestyle change.
If I wasn’t working in healthcare, I’d be a ballet dancer with the New York City Ballet.
