I have been a Registered Nurse for a long time and a Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years. It was actually my children’s pediatrician who encouraged me to become a nurse practitioner.
Before attending Rush University I studied Dance Therapy at Columbia College in Chicago. In Chicago I worked as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for the National Health Service Corps in community health, the Department of Child and Family Services and became the first NP to be on the Chicago Head Start Medical Advisory Board. When I moved to Arizona to care for my parents as they aged, I knew I wanted to get back into community healthcare because I always felt that’s where I had the most impact in people’s lives.
I love working for Mountain Park because we’re really here to help and support families. I don’t know of one provider here who doesn’t take the time to listen to their patients. We have so many resources for our patients.
I believe that diversity makes life richer in all aspects and it is so important for us to accept each other and listen. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, kayaking, paddle boarding and traveling the world with my siblings. If I weren’t working in healthcare, I would probably want to return to my passion for the theater.
