I’ve always been a natural helper. I like social work because it’s a diverse approach to helping people. It includes behavioral, social, and mental health in a whole-person approach. My goal is to help patients be their best selves and I do that, first, by listening. People are the experts on their own lives, I just help them find ways to get what they expect from themselves. From me, a patient can expect honesty, understanding and a willingness to meet them where they’re at.
It’s always important to look at the whole picture of what is going on in someone’s life. That’s one of the reasons I was drawn to Mountain Park; the integrated health model addresses all aspects of a patient’s wellbeing and I believe people do better when their care accounts for all of the things that may be impacting their lives.
When I’m not in the clinic, I like to travel and learn about new people and places. If I wasn’t working in healthcare, I would probably be a baker and own a cupcake shop because I love to bake.
