I always knew I wanted to help people, I just had to decide between going into nursing or doing social work. I worked as a social worker for 14 years in the foster care system helping kids as old as 18 find their forever home. That experience helped me to ultimately decide on social work over nursing while I was studying for my undergrad.

I moved to Arizona in the summer of 2018 from Maryland. My husband is in the Navy and is stationed here. I was actually recruited by Mountain Park to come and work for them and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. It’s been such a great career opportunity.

In social work and behavioral health, I think it’s important to remember that it doesn’t matter where someone comes from or what their experiences are, there is a person there to help them. I want my patients to feel comfortable with me and know that whatever they say to me is important. I’m here to help.

If I wasn’t in healthcare, I’d be a teacher because I enjoy guiding people to make good decisions about their life. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my three boys and my husband.
