I chose to go into healthcare because I saw a gap in the amount of people dealing with mental health issues and the amount of people getting the help they need. Not enough people reach out, so I wanted to be able to take services to them. That’s why I wanted to come work for Mountain Park. The integrated healthcare model here is like nothing I’ve seen before.
I really do believe in patient centered care. What that means to me is actively listening to what my patients need, what their concerns are and then breaking down their goals into something manageable.
I try to practice mindfulness every day. I do a lot of walking, in the morning and during lunch, and I really take that time to relax. If I wasn’t working in healthcare I’d be traveling and teaching yoga.
