I developed an interest in nutritional science while I was in college studying English. I’ve always been fascinated by health and the ways that what we eat impacts how we feel. I started my career working in a hospital where the focus was often on reversing a condition, rather than preventing it altogether. Mountain Park’s integrated healthcare approach appealed to me because I like being able to help people address issues in a patient’s diet before a health problem arises as a result.
I think it’s important to have a whole person approach. I don’t judge my patients because there is always more to the story and you can’t learn a person’s story unless you’re truly listening. I’m here to help identify areas where they can make changes to support their overall health.
I really enjoy Mountain Park because it gives us the opportunity to learn about different cultures—everything from the food and music our patients enjoy to their history—and I think that helps me do my job better.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family. My husband and I have three kids and we like to work out together, travel and eat meals as a family.
