A Message from CEO John Swagert, MD
Dear Supporters and Friends:
While opinions vary on whether our healthcare system is moving in the right direction, there is one thing our community can count on: Mountain Park Health Center will continue to answer the call to provide affordable quality care to those who need it.
This has been our mission for 30 years, and our passion continues to drive us every day. By adapting to the changing healthcare environment, creating a strong public-private partnership, and staying focused on doing the right thing for our patients, we have built a sustainable organization. The concept of sustainability is always on our minds because more than 50,000 people depend on Mountain Park to provide them with a stable medical home.
At five facilities around the Valley, Mountain Park’s clinical model focuses on preventive care, empowering our patients to take better care of themselves, and helping them stay healthy and out of emergency rooms. In the end, our model serves the dual roles of reducing the misery associated with untreated, preventable illness, and saving the state’s healthcare system money.
Our next major undertaking is the relocation of our East Phoenix Clinic. We’ll be breaking ground on the Gateway Clinic in fall 2013, with plans to open in 2014. Community stakeholders have been invited into the design process of this new clinic to help us create a welcoming environment for our patients. The new clinic is a reflection of our dedication to working with the communities we serve to provide affordable healthcare, and it demonstrates our commitment to the future of community healthcare.
“Mountain Park Health Center will continue to answer the call to provide affordable quality care to those who need it.”
And we couldn’t do it without you — our supporters, donors and community members. In the following pages of this report, we invite you to learn more about our progress in 2012, and we thank you for helping make a strong future possible.
