I have always been a healthcare person, and who people come to when they need medical help. My father is a doctor, and when I was seven, he was diagnosed with melanoma. As a child, he would have me help him remove his stitches, and since then I have been fascinated with the medical field. As a result of this, I have had the privilege of working with underserved populations. My main goal as a nurse is to educate folks on how to care for themselves. As a nurse, I also get the opportunity to learn about my patients by actively listening to them, making sure they feel heard and safe.
