I decided to pursue a career in healthcare, specifically in nutrition, because of the impact it can have on individuals’ lives. During my undergraduate studies, I discovered how influential nutrition is, not only on physical health but also on social aspects. I realized that by teaching people how to develop a healthy, happy relationship with food, I could make a significant difference. Nutrition is a powerful tool, and I am passionate about using it to help others improve their lives.
My journey brought me to Mountain Park after working at our WIC office in Maryvale, a place I always knew I wanted to return to. I align with Mountain Park’s mission of helping those who need it most. I am an advocate for all the nutrition programs and resources that Mountain Park provides, and I am dedicated to supporting our patients in achieving their health goals. When patients come to see me, they can expect a casual and open conversation, free of judgment. I aim to work collaboratively with each patient to find ways to incorporate healthy habits into their lifestyle, understanding that everyone is at a different place and may have other priorities that need to be addressed first.
Outside of work, I spend my time engaging in various outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing. I also enjoy playing with my dog, reading, going to the movies, and spending time with friends. I highly value diversity in the workplace and believe it is essential to consider it during consultations to provide the necessary resources and meet patients where they are.
If I was not working in healthcare, I would likely be a park ranger, as I have a deep love for nature. Needless to say, I enjoy spending time outdoors! Additionally, I make it a point to incorporate wellness into my own life by walking 30 minutes every day, which significantly benefits my mental and physical well-being.
