Growing up in Yuma, I led a very bicultural and binational family life, often seeking medical care on both sides of the border. This experience has sparked my intention for establishing a long-term medical home as an adult. It’s taken years to find a place that not only took care of my medical needs but also felt like a place I belonged. The first time I walked into Mountain Park Health Center I felt a sense of relief and comfort I hadn’t felt before. I am now a patient because a friend invited me to join the board and I will always be grateful to her for this introduction. Not only do I have the privilege to represent an exceptional health community, but I also have found a medical home that feels like home.
I am a public health specialist and though most of my experience has been in global health, I’ve recently pivoted to more local work. As a Client Partner at STChealth, I help State Health Departments improve their immunization information systems and thereby, provide more reliable health data that guides critical decision making. I am steeped in public health, and I love it! I am very excited to be part of Mountain Park and contribute to its legacy of delivering quality patient-centered healthcare and being a reliable community resource.
As a loving partner, stepmom, and dog mom, I spend my free time shuffling between soccer fields and coffee shops. I like to enjoy a good podcast or audiobook while I try out new recipes (those aren’t always good), and I’ve recently found “my people” at my local gym.
