I was born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, and have called Phoenix home since the third grade. Growing up in this community has given me a deep appreciation for the people and cultures that make it special.
Although healthcare once seemed a little intimidating to me, my experience working in integrated care showed me how meaningful this work can be. I wanted to be part of an organization where I knew I was making a difference in the community that helped shape who I am today. Over the years, I had heard so many positive things about Mountain Park from friends, colleagues, and former clients. The opportunity to work in Maryvale felt especially meaningful because it feels like coming home. There is something truly rewarding about serving a community that reflects my own roots and experiences.
When you meet with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and honest approach. I believe in meeting people where they are and supporting them as they work through life’s challenges. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that everyone has different needs, and understanding the whole person is essential to providing meaningful support.
I believe respect starts with humility, empathy, and a willingness to understand different perspectives. Listening to understand, rather than simply listening to respond, is one of the most important ways we can create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
Outside of work, I’m a huge animal and nature lover. Given the chance, I’d spend as much time as possible outdoors hiking with my dogs. During the hotter months, I enjoy playing video games, board games, and experimenting with new recipes. I also prioritize my own wellness through mindfulness and yoga, which help me stay grounded and create space to care for my mental and emotional well-being.
If I weren’t working in behavioral health, I might have pursued a career in chemistry, engineering, or another field that combines problem-solving and curiosity. But I can’t imagine doing work that feels more meaningful than serving my community.
Fun fact: I love live music of all kinds. Whether it’s Mexican, Latin, rock, pop, rap, country, or even Disney on Ice, if there’s a live performance involved, I’m probably having a great time!
