What drew me to Mountain Park was its strong commitment to community and its integrated healthcare model, which recognizes the connection between physical, emotional, and behavioral health. I was impressed by the organization’s values and the thoughtful, whole-person approach to care.
When you meet with me, you can expect to be seen, heard, and reminded of your strengths. I believe every person has unique gifts and resilience, and I strive to help patients recognize those qualities in themselves. One of the most meaningful lessons I’ve learned throughout my career is that healing is a shared experience. My patients teach and inspire me just as much as I hope to support them. I truly believe that when individuals are well, our families, communities, and world become stronger as well.
Respect is at the heart of how I approach both my work and relationships. I believe every person is a unique combination of their experiences, culture, history, and identity. Remembering that helps me approach others with curiosity, appreciation, and respect.
Outside of work, I’m fairly introverted and enjoy spending time outdoors backpacking, running, swimming, cycling, and practicing yoga. I’m also an avid reader, especially when it comes to classic literature. One of my biggest passions is the board game Go, which has become something of an obsession over the years. I also enjoy meditation and traveling whenever I have the chance.
As a child, I dreamed of becoming an archaeologist, thanks in large part to a steady diet of Indiana Jones movies. If I weren’t working in behavioral health today, I’d likely be a librarian, surrounded by books and lifelong learning.
I make wellness a priority by treating myself with the same kindness and respect that I offer others. I focus on nourishing my body through a mostly vegetarian diet, daily movement, mindfulness, and plenty of play and laughter. Being human can be challenging, and I’ve learned that self-compassion is one of the most important wellness practices of all.
Fun fact: I’m a lifelong gamer. I play both console and computer games and have been gaming since childhood, when my father first introduced me to the early days of computer gaming. It’s a hobby I’ve never outgrown and one I still enjoy today.
