I come from a big family and am the oldest of six kids. I didn’t know it at the time but growing up taking care of all my younger siblings really prepared me to be a pediatrician. When I was a senior in high school, my own pediatrician set up some shadowing experiences for me at the hospital. I was able to spend some time in the intensive care nursery, general pediatrics and even sit in on pediatric surgeries. After that, I had no doubt I wanted to work in medicine. I met my husband during my residency in Chicago where I grew up. He is a psychiatrist and together we have two boys who are both adults now. I moved to Arizona and joined the Mountain Park family right after finishing my residency in 1990 and I’ve been here since. I love being a part of maintaining the health and wellbeing of many wonderful families in South Phoenix. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, CrossFit and Pilates, and spending time with my family.
