At Mountain Park, we believe in Building for Today and Tomorrow, and that includes investing in our employees and helping them grow in their careers. As a result, many of our employees go on to fill leadership positions within the organization. That’s what happened for Elizabeth Parra, operations manager at our Gateway Clinic.

Elizabeth has been with Mountain Park for almost 8 years and started as a medical assistant float. She moved up to medical assistant lead and became a supervisor when we opened our Balsz Clinic and has been an operations manager for about 3 months.

“I never imagined I would become a manager,” said Elizabeth. “I always wanted to be in the medical field and help people. That’s why I became a medical assistant. But when I took on my role as supervisor at the Balsz Clinic, that’s when I knew I wanted to expand my career and go into management.”

During her time with Mountain Park, Elizabeth has continued to grow and take on new challenges. She has learned a lot, and while it hasn’t always been easy, Elizabeth says the help and support she’s gotten along the way has kept her going.

“As a new operations manager, I’ve gotten a lot of other managers offering their help and being very supportive,” said Elizabeth, “Knowing that I have people that I can count on makes things a lot easier.”

Coming from a big family, Elizabeth enjoys spending her time with people inside and outside of work.

“I have a very big family, and I gained another family when I got engaged,” said Elizabeth. “When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I’ve got a lot of family in Mexico, so I travel there often to see them.”

Building relationships is what comes easiest to Elizabeth in her position, and it is also what motivates her.

“There’s a lot of teamwork here at Mountain Park,” said Elizabeth. “I know how much the support I get helps me, so knowing I can have that same impact on someone else’s day is a huge motivator for me.”

“Elizabeth was instrumental in helping prepare the Balsz Clinic for our opening in September 2021,” said Dorothy Garcia, director of operations for our Gateway Clinic. “She is hard-working, very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.”

It’s not just the relationships she builds with her coworkers that makes Elizabeth enjoy her job, but also the connections she can create with our patients.

“Getting to know the people we serve is very important to me,” she said. “As we learn about other people, we learn about ourselves. It’s a different kind of care we get to provide to our patients. One that makes them feel seen and not just like a diagnosis.”

At Mountain Park, Elizabeth has found a group of people who share her passion and commitment to our mission to provide convenient, affordable, quality healthcare for the entire family.

“We all have the same mission,” she said. “Everyone that works here has the desire to serve our community and give them the best care.”
