Dr. M. Edwyn “Wyn” Harrison
After growing up in Michigan and Virginia, my wife and I moved together to Arizona and have had the pleasure of living in the Sonoran Desert for most of our adult lives. Raising two wonderful kids and enjoying the outdoors while pursuing a busy medical career has been an incredible journey.
As a doctor in gastroenterology and hepatology, it’s been a joy to care for patients and their liver and GI needs. I joined Mayo Clinic in 1993 and have had the opportunity to contribute to healthcare by caring for my patients, participating in research to improve medical treatments, and creating educational programs to train the next generation of physicians.
Through my educational work is how I was introduced to Mountain Park. In 2012, Mayo Clinic and its medical school Dean, Dr. Keith Lindor, committed to opening a medical school campus in Arizona. I was chosen to lead the team in Arizona to build the medical program in Scottsdale and Phoenix. Our team prepared for the school and visited multiple healthcare centers throughout Phoenix, including Mountain Park. At Mountain Park, I was struck by the enthusiasm and commitment of the providers, administrators, and leaders to this unique organization. I could feel the effect their commitment had on the health of the community.
I have served on the Quality, Safety and Compliance Committee at Mountain Park and have seen the amazing preventive work the organization has done. In joining the Board of Directors, I hope to support the good results of Mountain Park as it continues to grow and provide high quality and affordable healthcare at convenient locations throughout Phoenix.
