As you know, for many months we fought against efforts to take away healthcare from those who need it most. The proposals would have robbed over 400,000 Arizonans’ access to care and increased private insurance premiums by 20%. This would have jeopardized people’s lives.

I’m happy to report that last night, with the help of our own Senator John McCain, the effort to rip healthcare away from so many was defeated. During this extremely important time in history, I am proud to see the work of so many had a critical impact. It was your work – our patients, our employees, their families, and our entire Mountain Park community – that stopped this effort. You stood up. Your voice was heard. And you made the difference.

Today, we can breathe a sigh of relief, but our work is not done. In coming weeks and months we will face other challenges to our families’ health and livelihood. Together we will stand up, speak out and make a difference. We know the power of our voice when it’s united.
