Partnering with St Mary’s Food Bank to Tackle Food Insecurity

February 09, 2021 |

Food insecurity is an ongoing public health issue within our community and across the country. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit it became even more difficult for some families to put food on the table, we challenged the ordinary and partnered with St. Mary’s Food Bank to start holding free food distributions at several of our clinics.

Between the months of March and December, we helped provide nutritious food to nearly 6,000 families and more than 28,000 individuals. Employees from all our different sites and departments put service over self and volunteered their time to help with the distributions packing bags of food and handing them out to the community.

We also extended our Kid’s Café program that provides free lunch to kids during the summer months and gave our nearly 32,000 meals between June and December. Both our food distributions and our Kid’s Café program have carried on into 2021.

At Mountain Park, we are so much more than a health clinic, and with the help of great community partners like St. Mary’s Food Bank, we are able to provide assistance for all the different needs of our community.
