Although the COVID-19 vaccine has been available for about a year there are still many areas within our community with low vaccination rates. Thanks to a $1 million grant we received from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), we’re working hard to help close that gap. Through the grant we were able to launch our Vaccine Outreach Program and hire a team of vaccine outreach specialists to go door to door in the hardest hit communities to provide them with reliable information regarding the vaccines. In addition, our team of 10 helps schedule vaccination appointments and gives our community peace of mind through education. We are so grateful to be able to do this work to help protect our patients and community against the spread of the COVID-19 virus and with our new team members we are one step closer to ending the pandemic.
